Roma Boys/Girls Academy - Maryland

AC Cugini Roma Academy Maryland

Exceptional World Renowned Player Development Available to All!

AC Cugini, founded in 2000, is pleased to announce the opening of the Roma Academy Maryland program for elite male and female players in the Frederick, MD area. The expansion to Maryland builds on AC Cugini's successful and unique academy program in Virginia sanctioned by the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI Servizi) and the Italian Soccer Federation (FIGC) and affiliated with professional clubs RES Roma (women's side of AS Roma) and Brescia (men's). The Roma Academy Maryland program is managed by AC Cugini President and Technical Director Fabio Diletti and AC Cugini Executive Director Lisa Cherubini.

AC Cugini's Roma Academy, in collaboration with the teaching staff from FIGC and CONI Servizi, has created a new project for Maryland youth, “Sports Culture“, which aims to promote Italian player development, language, and culture. Providing a friendly environment for all, our focus is on developing young players to reach their highest potential and goals, whether at the professional or college level (in the United  States or in Italy), or just for fun. The project also provides unique international cross-cultural opportunities, training with and playing against with the best clubs in Italy, and exposure to a new language.

If you been looking for an exceptional player development program with true professionals teaching your child that is also affordable, AC Cugini's Roma Academy program has the solution! Not only do we work with every family to easily afford this unique opportunity, we also offer a limited number of reduced tuition scholarships to talented players on our younger teams in the 2007 and 2008 age group. Our commitment to making the highest quality soccer training available to all players was one reason U.S.Youth Soccer granted AC Cugini rare "Soccer Across America" status in 2013 and  why the Italian National Olympic Committee awarded AC Cugini special recognition in 2004.

Don't miss this opportunity to join a world renowned player development program and have your child be seen by college recruiters as well as talent scouts from professional Italian men's and women's clubs.

AC Cugini's Roma Academy program creates boys and girls teams to play at the elite academy level. Therefore, we are looking for players with the passion for the game who will ensure the success of this project. The Roma Academy provides the Frederick, MD, area community with professional, high-quality international programming affordable for all. Passion and commitment are the answers to success. -
Buon Lavoro -  Good Luck!

Acceptance Process

  • Acceptance to an AC Cugini Roma Academy Maryland elite team is not automatic, not even for current team members, it is by invitation only after a player has attended 2 tryouts.

  • After 2 tryouts, AC Cugini's Executive Director will send an email to the parents of accepted players inviting the player to join the travel team along with AC Cugini's Academy program registration packet and fee details to review before they make a decision to join an AC Cugini team. (Parents must list a working email that the parent will check frequently on the tryout online registration or hard copy registration form.)

  • Once a player receives an invitation to join the team, parents must submit all registration forms along with first tuition payment and uniform payment by the deadline specified in the acceptance email. Note: A player’s spot can only be confirmed if parents submit the registration forms and appropriate fees by specified deadline in the acceptance email.

  • All parents must read the parental release and refund policy stated on the registration form and on the refund policy page on the AC Cugini website BEFORE committing their child to the 10-month Academy program.

Program Fees

  • The annual AC Cugini Roma Academy Maryland program tuition differs by age group but includes AC Cugini club membership, year-round professional training 2-3 x week (August - June), travel league fees, referee fees, US Club or US Youth Soccer membership, insurance coverage, field and gym rental fees, paid office staff, office expenses, and administrative fees.

  • Fees for "extra curricular" activities outside the Italian National Olympic Committee player development program, such as tournaments or winter futsal leagues, are not included in academy tuition. Tournament and winter futsal league participation are highly encouraged with each team's coaches deciding tournaments and team managers collecting tournament fees from team members and paying tournament sponsors directly. This allows all teams greater flexibility in choosing from a wide range of  tournaments throughout the country with varying registration fee as well as allows teams to determine number of teams to enter in 5v5  futsal leagues. It also expedites tournament registration and assists parents with budgeting throughout the program year.

  • Note: AC Cugini works with all families on an individual basis to afford the program fees.
